If it was just this image or a bunch of others, sure, as long as it's funny and/or intresting, even if the quality isn't that good it's alright, but half of the Touhou images on this site are crap. I don't hate Touhou, I sometimes play it and it has nice characters, but this is too fucking much. This isn't a Touhou board, seriously.
Woah, angry janitor. Last I heard, the number of favourites wasn't indicative of the Danbooru consciousness. Anybody can register an account and fav away. I agree that the artwork isn't so great on all of these, but it's the poses and what they say about the characters that make it interesting.

This site wasn't never a measure of quality. Its an image hosting site, with any image being able to be posted. And while it does seem 3/4 the images posted now are Touhou, that doesn't exactly mean the amount of favorites the image got are based solely on it being a Touhou image.
That said, I do agree in one point you hit upon. Pretty soon this site is primarily going to be a Touhou image dump site at the rate its going. When 6 months ago it was probably the best image hosting site out there, because it had more images of other content. But that's just my opinion.
There are a lot of Touhous on this place because, well, Touhou is popular in both the East and West, it seems, and thus there is quite a bit of art of it. It's easy to find. Not so much with other things. Go find other images and post them, don't complain.
Additionally, I want to say that Touhou is very community driven. I know that I personally tend to favorite images, like this one, not because I particularly ~like~ the image (Especially in this case, as I rather dislike it) but rather to show others it, later.
Yeah, but a lot of the touhou images on danbooru aren't really that good and are uploaded because contributors can without going through the mod queue.
Fun facts: over 50% of the ~22,000 Touhou posts uploaded in the past 4 months were uploaded by 2 contributors. Around 40% of all ~95,000 Touhou posts on Danbooru were uploaded by only 4 contributors.
Most of the crap Touhou content comes from a handful of users who seem to upload practically every halfway decent Touhou post that hits Pixiv.
Are we blaming the artists for drawing too much Touhou or blaming the people here for being more eager to upload Touhou stuff than anything else? Like we could blame them in the first place anyway.

How about both? And really, does every Touhou image have to be uploaded? I mean, I understand if artists are drawing a lot of it, that's a no brainer as it seems many artists have drawn at least one Touhou image by now. But do we need to upload (and approve) every Touhou image? Heck, artists draw thousands of Pokemon, Dragon Quest and Haruhi images. Yet people don't go actively searching for them all and posting them (and they don't seem to all get approved).
In short, Touhou didn't get close to 100,000 images on Danbooru by accident. If its because the majority of people on this site prefer it, then sure, post away. But if its just a couple guys and mods trying to fill the board with Touhou...maybe its not a good idea since it'll cause the rest of the people to get tired of the majority of images becoming one thing.
Heck, the next biggest copyright tags are Vocaloid (17,379) and suzumiya_haruhi_no_yuuutsu (12990), nearly 80,000 posts away. And the only tags above it in count are two general tags, breasts (101355) and long_hair (123348). And I wouldn't be surprised if in a month its the highest.

@secondary125 This isn't some random image hosting site, it's an image hosting site for GOOD STUFF. There wouldnt be a moderation queue if you could dump anything you wanted in here.
And like evazion said, I was checking a certain contributor posts yesterday, and like out of 15000 posts, 14000 are Touhou. Is there seriously a need to post all that stuff? Sure, you people could say "if it wasn't good it wouldnt be approved", but the problem is that there are Janitors and/or Mods that are also Touhou fans and don't mind having this shitload of avarage crap on the site. So, could you Touhou fans kindly hold back on posting every single pic you find, and check its QUALITY first? And since you are there, put some other random serie image in there, variety doesn't hurt.
I come to danbooru mostly to check out the Touhou pics and I agree with Snesso & Co; there's a fuckload of mediocre stuff out there. Not that it matters to me as a fan, I still favourite and save them, but their quality isn't always in the higher ends.
You act like nobody has ever agreed with you before. It's like a curse. Whenever I look through my uploads and find an image I regret posting, it's always Touhou.

I've actually pointed these statistics out a few times in the past year. On the other had, they don't seem to actually be changing too much relative to one another. In fact, if I remember the statistics correctly, short_hair is trending upward toward surpassing touhou eventually. (As usual, I consider long_hair to be saturated beyond the point of usefulness because of ambiguity).
To me it's funny to watch people complain about this because I found this site due to Touhou and I only keep coming back to this site for Touhou. Not that I don't agree with the points here because it is a heavy, heavy skew in it's favor, but it still amuses me. I can only use two search tags which pains me because 75% of my searches have "touhou" in them which means I can only use one more tag for searching purposes.
To get back on the topic of chesticles and not ranting about Touhou on danbooru, does Meiling even need her name with her pic? It's kinda easy to guess I mean really look at those jugs

I just don't understand why normal users are limited to two tags. Does using more than two tags slow down the database or something? Does it make room for trolling somehow? A limitation like that just doesn't make sense at all. And don't even say that you should try to become a contributor, because there are normal users that have uploaded hundreds to thousands of pictures, and they haven't been made into one. Not everyone knows japanese so that they can translate images, and the chances of you actually being noticed on the forums by mods are very small, if you try to help there.
Unless it actually does slow the database down somehow, I don't understand the point of this. Danbooru is supposed to be a site where you can find quality anime art, but it's kind of hard to find what you want at times. x.x
