Pretty much. I kinda feel sorry for Sanae considering what Flan is gonna do to her when Meiling explains how she was tricked.

I'm kinda confused here, so forgive me if I'm just being a dumbass.

But why is Sanae fighting again? Have I somehow missed the rest of the first round matches?

I'm too lazy at the moment to go back and check to see if a full schedule was posted earlier, but I think Round One is finished. Meiling & Flan (and possibly other teams - again with the lazy) received a bye.

There's also the possibility that I'm not understanding what format this tournament is using, but I'm sticking with the bye theory for now.

I believe that's right. This is a twelve-team format, which means that four teams (Meiling/Flandre, Shikieiki/Komachi, Sakuya/Suika, and Marisa/Nitori) got a bye to round two.

& so the universe ended.
