Fuuuuuuuny story.... In the comics, Arcee is actually one of the first (if not =the= first) Trans gender bots^... And she was in fact the twin sibling to Galvatron of that continuity...
So there are basically all sorts of (probably unintentional) layers going on here XD
^caveat here is that the orignal version of that story was... not the best in consideration of how it treated Arcee or the concept of being trans or 'transed'...
