I think Blaine looks cool as it is with the lab coat.

People are so picky about Pokemon here. Maybe he just wanted to draw him in a lab coat and maybe Yellow was his favorite game and he wanted to show that by having Gary have Eevee. You want to pick on little things like that then you draw it.
