Are those futanari projectors between the bladder and the uterus? My anatomy's a little off. Hey, why would a cyborg need a uterus? Breasts and a vagina I could understand, but a uterus?

so they can have children, obviously. cyborg's are still partially living, only with some mechanical parts. no reason to rip out their distinct biological traits

Ah, I got my androids and cyborgs confused. Cyborgs are humans with machine parts while androids are pure machines made to look and act human... I think?

I think many of you are confusing Cyborgs with Androids. Cyborgs are nothing but humans with artificial implants to replace or make stronger natural organs. Androids on the other hand are 100% artificial. So a Cyborg can give birth if it still has a uterus intact.

I would think that a bio-android would be a machine that has some laboratory-created artificial parts, such as a heart created using human cells. If that is true, it wouldnt be a cyborg, since it doesnt have a soul, and was never completely human, but also wouldnt be a typical android, since it isnt made using metals, rubber, and plastics.
That, or there is no actual thing as a bio-android. (?)

I did some translating... the breast is a bio(生体)(???)bag(バッグ). Shoulder was a little bit tricky... it's what I put or something like "Universal joint for shoulder cartridge".

Sounds like Realians from Xenosaga to me. They're grown in cellular vats using organic components. They're the pinnacle of robotics in Xenosaga since they can usually pass for humans unless they were bred for a combat role, in which case there might be... modifications... made to the normal simulated DNA template.

The artist calls them "cyborg"(in katakana). I translated it more and found it neat(and harder to translate) how the artist chose to use more technical terms... instead of just "bladder" , "breast", or "uterus". I wonder how the uterus in the 2nd cyborg is improved... we'll need a better skilled/motivated translator. Although I hope my translations answer your Qs

I'm guessing fertility on command. No more pesky waiting for the cycle to be just right. This would also totally eliminate periods.

couldn't a bio-android be another name for a clone or artificial human (like Xenosaga's Realians) that are completely biological, but are more durable than humans and have a nuro-link or other type of device that lets them link to a computer?

Bio-Androids are a Grey area. One can argue that they are Cyborgs, Androids, and weather or not they have souls. In the end.

Personally, if something has feelings and emotions, then I think it has a soul.

Bio-Android is actually a redundant term, in some way.

Androids cover any human form imitating machine (greek Aner (Man) + "eidos" (appearance) -> Man-shaped), no matter what parts it is made from - for example the Replicants from Blade Runner, which are made entirely of biological parts (Ironically, they were deliberately renamed from "Androids" to "Replicants" to emphasize this). These androids can only be differentiated from real humans through Psychological Testing, as they are biologically identical - and even that border is broken down in the story with Rachel, an Android with implanted memories.
Realian is yet another new name for the same thing. Gynoid (gyne (woman)) is sometimes used to differentiate Female Androids, but it seems to me like a rather pointless differentiation, as aner means both man and human in general.

Androids, in contrast to Cyborgs, are created, built- while Cyborgs are normal, born people enhanced with robotic parts.
Androids are completely constructed, while Cyborgs are modified from what nature created.

The interesting thing is when is an Android equal to a human, a question raised for example in Xenosaga, where Miriam points out that KOS-MOS, who is created entirely from mechanical parts (in contrast to the meaty Realians), is actually just as much of a human being as anyone else, with nanomachines and robotics being the equivalent to our enzymes and cells (etc). Does the amount of biological parts define it, or is it the fact that they were not born, but built?

    ...

    I love this topic.

Bit of a flaw with this.

Emotions can be programmed. A robot can be programmed to be sad when a person dies. People can also be 'programmed' or conditioned, rather. Say you have a little kid, and they are violent. You can condition them to learn that violence is bad via negative or positive reinforcement.

Emotions aren't solely natural anymore. Even if they aren't 'real' emotions, they can still be programmed.

Take Subaru Nakajima for an example. She is a cyborg yet she has feelings for everyone. So cyborgs do have a soul.

Waste products and unnecessary coolant are released. Can also secrete a lubrication fluid during sexual intercourse.
Effectively, it performs the same as Ayana's one. But when using seduction techniques to gather intelligence, the uterine cervix can expand and contract at her will.
    Photon engine
    Shoulder universal joint
    Artificial eye ball
    Biological mammary gland protection bag
Able to distinguish things approximately 2km ahead. Also able to see at a microscopic level.
    Vocal unit
Artifical circulatory system central unit for organic tissue maintenance
To maintain the body's original internal organs, artificial heart, lungs etc are controlled here.
    Listening device
A stiff type of armour but has no adverse effects on posture. A softer version is anticipated.
Able to hear a pin drop 5km away.
Connection and power transmission socket for the arm.
Memory enhancement processing unit. If the head is cut off from the body, memories will still exist for approximately 12 hours after.
    Artificial spine
    Artificial skull
    Organic memory enhancement unit
Impact resistant. Shock resistant ability is approximately 80 times that of a normal person's.
Recreated from the body's original mammary glands and reinforced by nano-machines.
    Soft abdominal armour
To maintain the organic parts of the body, nutrients from food are assimilated. Food can be eaten like a normal person (Only a small amount is required). Waste excretion is also possible.
The photon engine is the source of the cyborg's life, as it is possible to convert the photon energy into various other forms. The one Ayana has is especially excellent at this.
    Artificial digestive system
The spine is 70 times stronger than that of a normal person's.
    Biological reproductive organ
    Biological reproductive organ(improved model)
    Artificial urinary system
Like the mammary glands, this too has been enhanced by nano-machines, making it stronger than the original. Pregnancy and child birth are possible, but is usually abstained from.
