It is and isn't. During the battle of the Imperial Webway, spectral figures, mainly Astartes (and believed to be the Legion of the Damned because SO MANY THEORIES ON THEIR ORIGINS) appeared to help the Imperial forces retreat. Amongst the figures, was a hulking giant with metal arms.

Strategic ambiguity was the bread and butter of 40k.

Given the relationship between souls, the Warp, and psychic phenomena in 40K, aren't "soul" and "psychic projection [of a person]" basically the same thing anyway?
