I personally don't mind this outfit, if they remade her in the new games with a new outfit, rather than replacing her outright, I would have been okay with that, but instead they give us this sad excuse of a clone of her.

It's funny how a name change (or in reality, given a name at all) can make people so retarded.
Why does anyone give a shit about Lyra replacing Crystal? It's not like either of them have anything resembling character traits in any shape or form, being silent protagonists in an RPG with only one human party member. They're functionally identical and both of their designs are solid. So why make such a fuss over the change?
Because bike shorts, earrings, and blue hair are much more attractive than overalls, a cabbie hat, and "regular" brown hair. It has nothing to do with personality traits.
