Interesting match. Yuugi has the upper hand in strengh, since she's an adult oni and Suika is just a child, and the upper hand in skill/reflexes since "Her sake not even drop!". But on the other hand Suika has an extreamly powerfull special ability on her side, so it might be a pretty even match in the end.

Poor kappas, though we as the readers have foreseen this from miles away. But I have to say I never foresaw it to be this big scaled.

Still, I will bet my money on Suika here. Aside being my favorite, let's remember that Yuugi has given the ring a quality control. Unless she adjusted her power to match with other players (And thus, not getting a wreckage out of the ring during QC period), seems like Suika will be trumping her in matter of strength...

Except Yuugi was also one of the Four Devas meaning she herself is one of the top 4 strongest Oni. Since they never really explained if there was a hierarchy amongst the Devas, we can assume that story-wise they're the same and that it really will come down to skill and reflexes

(which I think Suika has a disadvantage in due to being a kid and being drunk all the time. Unless the author toned that down).

We also can't say that Suika being a final boss trumps Yuugi being stage 3. After all, Sanae was smart enough to beat Yuka, and was able to outlast Flandre in the last minutes of their fight.

You can say "It comes down to skill and reflexes" but that doesn't make the assumptions we can make about them anymore baseless.
The only thing we can say about their skills and reflexes is that one is better than the other at Danmaku.

Well, Yuugi can control 'super natural phenomena'. Growing kaiju size looks pretty super natural to me.

That is absolutely nonsense. If you actually brushed up on your Japanse mythology you should know that:

Two horned oni > One horned oni > Hornless oni.

Suika is by far superior to Yuugi. The amount of horns an oni has shows their rank, and two horns are the highest rank an oni can get. I firmly believe that Suika is in fact the leader of the Oni Devas. You can't go higher than two horns. There is no such thing as an three horned oni or a four horned oni. And the more drunk Suika gets, the more powerful she becomes, and Yuugi is just as smashed as Suika at all times.

In fact, the appearance of a youkai is completely determined by the youkai's personal preferences and personality. Almost all youkai are adept shapeshifters. Suika and several other characters may just use a child form because they like it more than an adult form. A youkai can look like a child even on the day they die of age (yes, youkai can die of age. The life spans of youkai vastly differ from each species. Some species, once they meet certain requirements, can become immortal. Yukari probably got so old because she used her gap powers to make herself immortal). So a youkai appearance says NOTHING about their power.
If you so firmly believe that adult youkai are stronger than child youkai, then why does Meiling (who clearly appears adult) work for two children for minimum wage?

I'm still wondering what happened to Sakuya.

Well the quote from Aya is old so we can't be sure. Bohemian Archive and Perfect Memento lack any mention of anyone from SA so we can theorize that Aya simply hasn't met any of the SA bosses long enough to sit down and interview them.

Also this fight will probably come down to skill and reflexes (strength is a factor that can be overcome) simply because although Suika would get tougher as she gets more drunk it doesn't imply that she becomes a smarter fighter with more skill (unless she becomes like Rock Lee somewhat when drunk).

Funnily enough, I now wonder if Suika really is younger than Yuugi or if she uses density to make herself seem child-like. Her title in Double Spoiler is "Free-Spirited Old-Timer" while Yuugi is just "Ruinous Super Strength". If this actually implied Suika is older than Yuugi... does that mean she'd qualify for the old maids club =D?

On a different note (and so we don't fill this up with random arguing): Orin looks scared as hell. If she's this scared now... she's going to get horrifically trashed by Sakuya. Also, why is Satori there as well? Was the ring just thrown onto her by chance or is she going to be like their coach/cheerleader?

I'm disappointed. I was hoping to see Yuugi fight Suika with her regular size. I guess I can't blame the author, since portraying her being as strong as Suika while still being small would be difficult.

Though again, yes Suika is a child oni and would by natually be weeker than a grown up one. Suwako is a so called immature Kami(one with low faith or the such) wich is the spiritual equalant of a child, wich is why she got beeten by a mature Kami. Kanako even states that Suwako would have to become more mature(in spirit, aka. spiritual growth) if she'd hope to ever beet her.

I actually knew this, oh, and you forgot three-eyed oni > two-horned. It is one of the things I never understood about Yuugi, beeing a one-horned oni and still be among the four most powerfull oni in the mountains, including Mt. Ibuki, the home of the oni. I've just made the asumpsion that ZUN designed her to be a one-horned Oni with an equal power, or greater than many two-horned ones. He clearly states that she exsteamly powerfull, just as an oni should be. Maybe she got there clearly through her "Sake Not Even Drop!" skills, and maybe Suika became a daeva due to her special power, even though she's only a child. I don't know, I just stitch together my idea of it through the wague story we've been given. Remember, power is not only in strengh or magic.

Maybe because they arent the same species? I meen Meiling is just a low power normal Youkai, while the Sisters are Vampires wich is often seen as exsteamly powerfull youkai. It's like saying that a grown up mouse and a grown up human would have the same strengh against a human child.

As a side note, remember that not all Youkai can change shape. Oni's are said to be able to take on two forms. That of the horned, ogre like creature, and that of a type of fog. That dosn't meen that they can look like what ever they want to. And remember that Suika is called a child by many other Youkais, even some who are younger than her.

And to all of those who asks to my "Skills/Reflexes" thingy, I've based my idea of Suika's skill on her fighting tecnique in IMaP/SWR.

I'm a big Suika fan myself, but I just can't see her beat one of the other four Daevas on shear raw power, especially one of grown stature. Now with some haxing density manipulation, it would make sence.

Suika's older than Yuugi though.

is it just me or did Yuugi's chest shrink when she got bigger?

Well, we've never been told how old they are, but I do think that Suika, as a two-horned oni, would be older, or atleast have lived about the same amount of time as Yuugi, a one-horned oni.

I figure Suika would master this fighting technique and use it to her advantage. She has skill, but it's just a bit different from most others skill. While most fighter's technique are based on discipline and concentration, Suika's technique is based on being completely smashed.

It's called Zui Quan, or Drunken fist in english. Though it's just a technique immitating drunkards. It's only in fiction that people who does this, is drunk. It's a hard disipline and if you did it smashed you'd likely just hurt yourself. Link to Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zui_Quan

Yuugi's power is "manipulation of supernatural phenomena." Since doppelgangers and the ability to completely mimic another could be considered "supernatural," then wouldn't Yuugi be able to manipulate them?

I always kinda assumed that Yuugi was physically slightly stronger then Suika, while Suika has more powerful magic and is a generally better fighter then Yuugi. That's total fanon on my part, though.

As for Yuugi growing... well, her power is just described as manipulating supernatural phenomena. It's hard to say what that even means, so changing size might be within her power as well for all we know.

uh, I don't know if anyone or if they did talk about it.. but, did Yuugi always had the power to manipulate density like Suika? If no, how did she get big as well..?
