What evidence is there that this is AI-generated? The background looks like it might have been 3d rendered, but aside from a soft color palette I'm not sure seeing anything obvious in the figure here.

I think its obvious enough but here: Completely different style comparing to their other works on pixiv, low resolution, muddy coloring, some background items that dont make sense (the most blatant here is the sink pipe connecting to no where, an artist at this shading level will never make such error). If you check their other "shiroko" work, you should see they have a hard time trying to draw a proper faucet and deciding which shiroko pupil is black or white. I would say most of these are ai gen then they dabbled some paint on it, but didnt do a very good job.

The pipe is actually a kind of fitting that goes into the wall, that's perfectly sensible and a thing that exists, if a touch fuzzy on the details in the drawing. And even if it were a mistake, *plenty* of artists would make it no matter their shading skills; I don't think you've seen enough wrong_feet coming from people with clear foot fetish if you can say that. On the "doesn't like anything like their other stuff" point, that's fair, although the fact the background bears pretty clear evidence of being 3d-rendered is a point against it being AI-generated. This is the kind of detail that wouldn't be consistently reproduced in that case.

The artist it self I think trying to hide it, on comment he say “im not fan of the ring” (halo) and another comment saying “oh i forgot thx for reminding me”

So it's ai-assisted?

My AI painting experience gave me an intuition the first time I saw it - He must have used AI. This is a very strange feeling, but this feeling jumped out of my mind instantly.
