Do not mistaken 必 with 心　(heart). 必　can be "sure/absolute", just like in 必殺技, it translates as "sure-kill technique".

必死　in this case could mean death is ensured, thus "inevitable death"...

About what each kanji means, you are totally right. But there is a word 必死 that means just what I said (I know it because I'm Japanese.)
I think Youmu is crying not from her coming death here, but from her disability to stop Sakuya.

99% of the time, 必死 means "desperate" or "with all one's might", as is also the case here. Look it up.
