Guess it might be because the game had a minor update (had a few quality of life stuff and a bit more lore stuff) recently along with being discounted during this years Halloween sale on Steam, which attracted a bunch of new players and fans.
Cultic is a fun game where you play a former Policeman on a holy mission to kick ass for the lord. Heretical asses. Dusk is another fun game where you play the Intruder on a mission to kick holy ass. Not for the Lord, for another. Then there's Boltgun where you kick even more heretical ass. For another kind of Lord, too.
Seriously there's an Heretical Ass Factory out there working overtime.
