Though I guess it makes financial sense to put him to stud as soon as possible, and he already achieved much more in four short years than even most notable G1 horses could do in five or even six.

Flightline and Ace Impact also retired after their sixth consecutive wins at ages 3 to 4, so it's not unprecedented.

Equinox’s stud fee is currently ¥20 million (roughly $130,000), the same amount as his father Kitasan Black.
