At first I thought an M16, but looking at the stock you're right. As for the tank, I'm sure it's an Abrams since this is set in America, while the Challenger sees use in the United Kingdom.

Yep looks more and more like an M4 as for the whole Abrams vs Chally bit it's hard to say since the main body and engine is made in the UK thus the base is identical overall. Syill can't believe the Iraqi army is getting supplied with M1A1 Abrams from the US army.

1. rifle is a M4 with 16 inch barrel.
2. tank is an abrams. check the barrel. a) too short for chally b) has a bore evacuator (bump in the middle of the barrel) too big for chally

to top it off the m16 rifle can be equipped with a retractable stock. Not all m16 rifles are full stock.
