My mistake, I thought it was Kume carrying Kyouko in the last panel.

I read this as Kasen telling Kyouko this other bird will bring her back, so Kyouko thinks 'oh I can ride on it instead of being yanked around' but no that's actually just how they carry things. The joke being that the other clingy bird was shown as a weirdo but the main weird action of beak carrying turned out to be normal.

Kume has age lines under his eyes. That's definitely Kanda taking off with her.

Kanda adores the pupper in his own way.
