I wonder what Samuel Roberts would have thought about the legacy his name had after his death. Naming a ship after somebody is probably one of the biggest honors the US navy can give. The ship that bore his name had a short career - I think she sank less than a year after being commissioned - but acquitted herself so well in her final battle that the name has been reused by later naval vessels. I can't say for sure, but he might have been proud of that.
It also means his name was attached to an anime girl in a browser game who has inspired a lot of lolicon art, which he probably would not have been proud of.
