Apparently a persons voice sounds different to other people (and to them when on video) because of the vibrations in your cheek.
Or at least that's what I have been told.

not cheek but bones of your skull afair.

I can manage anything from airy, feminine voices to badass "Master Chief from Halo" voices... but only from my perspective; record that voice, and nothing sounds as I intended it too. This tends to get in the way of me being able to adjust my tone to convey a particular mood... my mood is often misread because of my tone and I wish I could hear myself as others do...or better yet that others hear me as I do... goddamn physics! :(

The worst part of the nostalgia here is that it barely counts as such. The first time I heard my voice was in the last two months.

Needless to say it wasn't what I expected.

Few things are as depressing as being aware what your own voice really sounds like.
