If Marisa's preference for black clothing meant "water", then Reimu's "white and red" should mean "metal and fire". And just because Reimu's home (the shrine, which is located in a place she didn't choose) happens to be on the Eastern side of Gensokyo doesn't seem like sufficent evidence to indicate that she's aligned to Wood.
