You sure about that? R'lyeh is supposed to be about a days sail from Nan Midol/Ponape. That would put it in the South Pacific. I suppose if you kept going east long enough, youd get thier, but by that point you'd have circumnavigated about 2/3 of the globe; going west from Innsmouth Mass. would seem to be the shorter trip (you still have to cross all of North /South America but that seems shorter than getting across all of Europe and all of Asia) Y'ha-nthlei, where the Deep Ones of Innsmouth orginate,is certainly east of Innsmouth (being offshore past Devil's reef, it more or less has to be) but Y'ha-nthlei isn't R'lyeh
Well, I stand corrected. I guess searching the darkest corners of the Japanese internet for pics has damaged my mind and sanity more than I thought. I've seen things there that are too depraved and horrifying to comprehend. Things involving raping Mi-Go and cthulhu-tan futanari. It's a wonder I can still even write.

Nah, I've seen "ironically cute mythos" so many, many, many times it's just stopped shocking me. And he's not wearing a frilly dress and is not getting violated, so it's not as mindcrushing like the Japanese stuff.
On a related note, I propose that we dig up Lovecraft's grave and put copper wire and stuff around him, turning him into a sort of dynamo. That way, he will generate electricity every time he rolls in his grave. And considering what people do to his creations nowadays (don't you just love Public Domain?), we'd get enough power to solve the energy crisis.
Why stop with Lovecraft. Do that to Howard, Dereleth, and the rest of the circle as well, and we could have enough energy left over to make space beacons visible from here to Yuggoth, maybe all the way out to Formalhaut and Aldebrean in the Hyades.
