Gomander is the ball thingy. It grows indefinitely and without the snakey thing (called Otslay) it would grow out of control and die under its own mass; Otslay regulates its growth by feeding off excess energy produced by Gomander.

At first I though you were kidding, but I was thinking of Negus O Shim then. After looking Gomander up, I remembered how hard that battle was. You're right, she's in trouble.
