I think it lends her a seriousness and majestic aura her usual moeblob appearance lack. It fits the setting and the general art.

Well, I'm not saying it's bad and I do agree about the seriousness one, definitely. I'm just saying it's kinda pushing the limit, and hope no one try to one-up it.
I actually find this kind of Satori...extremely right. I mean, it just fits. And I love it.
I don't know why but I just really love the way this artist draws Satori and I really wish to see more of her like this.

I think that might be the reason. I always picture Satori as a serious youkai unfazed by anything and is always serious, like Shikieiki. I think this is what draws me into to this comic the most, those eyes.
