マグナキッドモン、ガンドラモンと並び三銃士と呼ばれるデジモンの一体。その出自は少々特殊で、デザイナーである渡辺けんじ氏のTwitterに投稿された、ベルゼブモンの別バージョンを描いたイラストから公式にキャラクターとして採用されたという、希有な経歴を持つ。

正式に商品として登場したのは「デジタルモンスターカードゲーム　デジモン15thアニバーサリーボックス」である。いまだアニメやゲームなどのストーリーに登場したことはないが、根強い人気を誇るキャラクターだ。

2020年から展開している「デジモンカードゲーム」においては、ブースター第六弾「ダブルダイヤモンド」にてシークレット枠で初登場したことでも話題になった。オプションカードを活用する「紫」デッキの主軸となる強力なカードである。カードゲームに限らず、今後の活躍にも期待したい要注目キャラクターだ。

ちなみに元ネタとなったベルゼブモンとは犬猿の仲。

One of the Digimon collectively referred to as The Three Musketeers, alongside MagnaKidmon and Gundramon. BeelStarmon’s origin and history are both unique, as it started as a Beelzemon variant posted to designer Kenji Watanabe’s Twitter before its official adoption into Digimon canon.

Its first actual product appearance was in the Digimon Collectible Card Game: Digimon 15th Anniversary Box. This character’s popularity has taken firm root despite a lack of in-universe appearances in anime or games.

The Digimon Card Game that launched in 2020 featured BeelStarmon’s first appearance in a secret slot of the sixth booster pack, Double Diamond. Its card acts as a powerful linchpin for purple decks using Option cards. Keep an eye on this character, who you can expect to see making waves outside of the card game moving forward.

Incidentally, BeelStarmon is actually on bad terms with its precursor Beelzemon.
