I've seen her with up to four pairs of arms. I think it depends on how complex the operation is going to be.

Fran has never been a stranger to adding and removing bodyparts for convenience.

Keep in mind that it would all go horribly wrong in an ironic twist at the end.

...Dude, not. Please reconsider. Have you even SEEN what tends to go wrong, and HOW?!

Seriously, you DO NOT want to be operated on by Fran in any possible case! *shudders*

Oh, come on. The least you could do with your puny existence is to provide some research material for SCIENCE!

Upon seeing this picture, my first thought was Victor Frankenstein related.

What she does isn't science, or even SCIENCE brand science, it's morbid curiosity!

It's like wishing on a monkey's paw. You could have things work out ok but it requires some very exact wording and a lot of luck.

Come on, it's fine to be around her if all you want to do is talk, as long as NOTHING is wrong with you.

Or if you ask her to help you out with a problem, or teach you her methods. Then you're literary asking for a slow, painful death or having all your limbs replaced with turtles or something.

All in the name of love, science and the good of mankind, of course.

Fran's intentions are always good, she's deeply motivated to help people and she has a surprisingly naive sense of romance. The problem is mainly that she has no concept of going too far, or the ability to judge when cheating death just wouldn't be worth it. She will save your life at any cost, even if it means putting your brain inside a teddybear and connecting it to the body of a little girl.
You will live a life of torment and madness, but the important thing is you will be alive.
Also, she often doesn't know when to say no. She does whatever her client requested, and lets him or her deal with the ironic consequences.

Franken Fran is similar to Tales from the Crypt in terms of irony.

Yup, and also short science fiction and/or horror stories in general. Since science fiction (and especially sci-fi horror) is mainly about social commentary, ironic fates are almost mandatory.
