I'm not sure if Sakuya in panel 1 is meant to sound less crass than this in the original Japanese, but I think I'm going to leave it this way because the combination of Sakuya's elegant face and that line is killing me.

No, she's not a panda youkai. And the "sleeping habits" aren't entirely canon. However, I heard that ZUN did confirm that Meiling is a dragon, but Remilia changed her fate.

Uh, no. That is wrong. So very wrong.

Meiling has no backstory or even rumors about her backstory. She's just "a youkai that guards the gate and maintains the gardens". That's all we actually know. Anything else is just random fan speculation.
