to those unaware, the dragon empery ladies are drinking straight from 500 mL bottles of Red Star, a 56 ABV low cost, low aroma baijiu typically associated with Beijing's working class. props to the artist for researching bc you just know Harbin would turn the party into a drinking match, which she still lost, thanks to the British and their unquenchable thirst for the tea.
also funny that Yat-sen the gentle southern beauty is drinking it down the hatch, a bit OOC but hidden depths i guess. remind me to never test my liver against her.

The really funny thing is because she is Southern Chinese she has a near 50% chance to genetically have a deficient ALDH2 protein which means she WONT process ethanol as effectively. This is a fairly common trait amongst East Asia with Chinese having the highest chance for it which is why they are known to be lightweights. Many of their livers functionally don't process the alcohol they drink as quickly as people from other places. I guarantee you will be able to find stories of Chinese businessmen taking foreigners out to drink, trying to out drink them, and getting drank under the table.
