umm... how should I say this... Balut (in Filipino language) is a nearly developed egg thats boiled alive. you open it, theres still the nearly developed embryo inside and you EAT it.
people believe it has LOTS of protein and as an aphrodisiac... this thing is sold as common street food here in the Philippines... but would you eat it, is the question....

How come most "aphrodisiacs" just happen to be kinda gross? It's as if it's a way to get rid of stuff nobody would buy otherwise. "No no, this egg hasn't gone bad, it's especially prepared to help you get a boner."

Tell that to the people who discovered the stuff inside the gross bits? Hell even deer dong is claimed to have that so why not balut? Not that I'm actually wanting to EAT that thing even if I am given a large gold ingot for it.
I've never had Balut (Nor do I ever intend to have any) but my dad has (And also my sisters apparently). He was boiling the eggs, cracked one open, showed me the chicken fetus inside, scooped it out and slurped it up. It was kinda gross. He says it tastes different from chicken or eggs. He's very poor at describing things so that's all I know about how it tastes. He likes to eat weird things, like lobster brains (Or whatever's inside of lobster skulls, was it the kidneys?) and other Vietnamese foods.
