To be fair, samurais do name their swords as it's a partner and extension to them, losing the sword is almost synonymous of losing one's pride. They're nothing like throwing knives... just imagine having the situation where you'll call out your knives like Santa Claus calling out his Reindeers.

Well, this part is true, but she at times doesnt see them as expendable because she reuses already thrown blades. I heard blade names like Mooncloud and Dragon's Fang on katanas so its perfectly normal for names... I think...
