Looks like 70s-esque Apeture Science right there. Definitely during the poor period for the company. It's somewhere between '76 and '81 that Cave gets his moon rocks. I wonder what's going on in the picture?
did another "portal 2" fanart, yes - without any portals, cubes, chells, wheatleys or cakes... this one is called "I DON'T WANT THIS!" and it's based on a short soundfile which is not even used ingame. i found it by a fluke while listening to some of the awesome sound recordings of the game (portal 2 sound page link above). on the image you see sir cave johnson (founder and owner of aperture science labs) and his better half caroline. cave holds some documents in his hands which involve her - but after hearing what his new plans are all about (glaDOS), he suddenly stops talking due to a slap in his face... she knows he's not the type of guy who accepts a "NO!". such a strong character duo and a scene which i had to draw. hope you like :)
I think it's anachronical though, because CJohnson had the idea of a IA for Caroline in the mid-80s and looked like
this at the time due to his mercury/moonrock poisoning
Really, its a shame what happened to Johnson. He was truly a great man.
He died for what he believed in: science. He wasn't the smartest man in the world, and definitely not the most ethical one. But he had a will that could move mountains, break the laws of physics and punch death in the face. Cave had so much charisma it hurts.
