    I'm struck with the mental image of Saber dying leaning against that tree, blinking back death for one last moment before the continuation of the dream, and seeing Madoka appear in a burst of splendor, to take her from the Throne of Heroes into Avalon.

    And also her reasoning to save Homura and the rest by killing them like in episode 10 is almost the same as archers ideal of saving the world by killing the wrong

    Except that's not Archer's ideal. He HATES having to do that. That's the prime source of his frustration.

    Sayaka is a better fit largely because of her ideals.

    Same with Mami. Why else would she go nuts when going off her murder spree?

    Sayaka would make a better Saber.
    Or, more fittingly, a Berserker.

    There's a difference.

    Mami didn't really have a choice. She either had to contract or die. Mami's freak out is attributed the small comfort of doing good turning out to be a lie. Archer was happy his whole life all the way to death. It's only after he died did he realize that the whole Counter-guardian deal sucks.
