    The carp ascending the waterfall*!!

Come to think of it, today was the grand reopening of Pokémon Center Nagoya!

So, let's celebrate with a golden Magikarp.

The first Pokémon Center I ever visited was in Nagoya, so I feel somewhat sentimental about it.
    Truly nostalgic...

It was back when these three were still the logo, so it really was quite a long time ago. [image of magikarp, pikachu and chikorita]

I think the feeling was quite similar to when I first saw the Great Buddha of Tōdaiji.
I thought that one would be a bit bigger, too.
It’s been a long time since I last went to Nagoya,
but for now, I’d at least like to go and catch the golden Magikarp!

(*reference to a traditional East Asian legend where a koi fish swims upstream and successfully climbs a waterfall, eventually transforming into a dragon)
