Also known as "tremolo arm", "tremolo unit" or "arm". A thin bar attached to the pivoting bridge of some electric guitars. When pulled up or pushed down, the bar articulates the bridge and thus either tightens or looses the strings temporarily. In so doing, the musician raises or lowers the pitch of the played notes.
