A style of Chinese cuisine prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in small bamboo steamer baskets or on small plates. Dim sum dishes are usually served with tea, and together form a full tea brunch.
They can be cooked by steaming and frying, among other methods. A dim sum brunch includes various types of small steamed buns, har gow, shumai, xiaolongbao, rice noodle roll, chicken feet, steamed green vegetables, roasted meats, congee and other soups, glutinous rice dumplings and sweets such as egg tart, pineapple bun, longevity peach bun, or various puddings and cakes. The serving sizes are usually small and normally served as three or four pieces in one dish.
Use this tag when the dishes are displayed in brunch.
