A performer, usually female, who uses clothing and makeup to exaggerate male gender roles and masculine for the purpose of entertainment or expression. The masculine counterpart to a drag queen.
Drag kings often wear men's formalwear or act as "macho" stereotypes, and frequently use fake facial hair. Kings often dance, sing, lip-sync and perform stand-up comedy at shows. It is also common to see more androgynous drag personas at drag king shows.
While the art is traditionally associated with crossdressing, some men (both cis and trans) also participate in the activity.
