Metal armored gloves or mitts that protect the hands and wrists of a combatant.

A typical gauntlet will have a cuff that partially extends over the forearm with a flared opening suitable for use in conjunction with other arm protection, such as vambraces.

Not to be confused with bridal gauntlets, mechanical hands, mechanical arms, or prosthetic arms.
