One of the main protagonists of Steel Ball Run, alongside Johnny Joestar. A competitor in the Steel Ball Run race, he possesses control over a mysterious ability known as the Spin. Bearing similarities to the Hamon martial art from JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Parts 1 and 2, it allows Gyro to imbue a powerful rotational force on the pair of steel balls he uses as weapons.
He has long hair, a wide-brimmed hat with long slits in it, teeth reading "GO!GO! ZEPPELI", and a beard made from square patches of hair. He wears a shirt with a high collar and short sleeves, a light cape, a light belt with a harness depicting hands pointing at his groin area, three armbands on his forearms, bridal gauntlets, and pants fused with boots with spurs. In the anime, his shirt has a smaller number of rivets in an x-cross shape.
