Also known as Bookman Junior or Bookman Jr., Lavi is one of the main characters of D.Gray-Man. He is the apprentice of Bookman and it's said that he will succeed him eventually. He is a close friend of other protagonists Allen Walker, Lenalee Lee and Kanda Yuu. He has short orange/red hair, green eyes, wears an eyepatch over his right eye, wears a headband, hoop earrings, and a scarf. Along with the Black Order Uniform. It's implied that he has a special reason for hiding his right eye under an eyepatch. His Innocence is an Equipment type in the form of a hammer called the "Iron Hammer" or as he like to call it, "Big Hammer Little Hammer". He can enlarge the size of the hammer at will and use it to crush his opponents during fights
