Machine tools are any powered industrial machine that are used to physically alter any materials (e.g. metals) into specific shape or remove an precise amount of the material off from the work-piece, by positioning or spinning the tools or work-piece (depending on type of the machine tool that being used, usually a lathe or milling machine) to create an useful product. These machine are usually found in workshops or larger industrial areas such as factories, and people who are trained and work to use them as their profession are called machinists.
