Obsolete is a 3D animated science fiction series directed by Urobuchi Gen, featuring music by Skrillex, and released as a YouTube original series. The series consists of 12-minute long episodes, each telling a self-contained story about how humans use the EXOFRAME, a type of basic mecha frame acquired from a mysterious alien race known as The Peddlers.
The first set of 6 episodes was released in December of 2019, and a second batch was released in December of 2020. Plastic model kits based on the series' mecha are released under Goodsmile Company's Moderoid line. The model kit line includes a crossover kit with Soukou Kihei VOTOMS, which reimagines the iconic Scopedog as an EXOFRAME variant.
