It gained significant popularity after the launch of Arknights: Endfield, due to a major issue surrounding PayPal as a payment option. Players who made purchases with PayPal would be randomly charged. It also allowed players to make purchases via the PayPal accounts of others, seemingly at random. Versions of the meme inspired by this feature the character Perlica from the game. It gained further traction after Simi and Chapchap uploaded a meme fan song titled Can You Send Me 30K?.
