Main character from the visual novel Planetarian - The Reverie Of A Little Planet.
She goes by the name Reverie Planetarian in the unofficial translation, a name adopted by most fans, which actually refers to the subtitle of the game, rather than the character herself.

She was originally known as Hoshino Yumemi, literally "dreamer who sees the stars", and was designed by Komatsu Eiji. Her voice, in CD and PS2 versions, is Suzuki Keiko.

    Fanbase

A lot of people have fallen in love with Reverie, helped by her, for this time, cheerful and welcoming disposition, as well as a optimistic attitude to everything, which, in a normal situation would be highly welcomed, but, in Planetarian, is actually loathed, since the main character finds her impossible to deal with.

    Character

In Planetarian, she is the only form of life encountered, beyond the player's character and automated war machines in the entire game, and is hated, early on, for being so oblivious to her lone state.
She also is subject to one of the most tragic fates in the visual novel genre, since, due to the linear nature of Planetarian, which is more like a e-book, there is no way to save her from a tragic ending.
