A supporting character in the anime/manga Naruto. She is the best healer in the ninja world and one of the legendary Sannin, together with Jiraiya and Orochimaru.
She is a compulsive gambler but has no luck. Her liegewoman is Shizune. Although she is already 50 years old, she is able to look younger as long she has enough energy.
Her animal motif is a slug, as seen in when she summons Katsuyu.
