A long-running children's book series created by a group of authors under the pseudonym Erin Hunter. It focuses on groups of anthropomorphized feral cats that compete for resources and their political conflicts. The series is divided into several six-book arcs that are largely contained as their own stories within the larger narrative.
It is popular around the world and has been running since 2003, though it is especially popular in China, one of the countries to most quickly receive translations of the books, as well as exclusive merchandise to the region.
An animated adaptation is set to be released in 2028, produced by Tencent Video, animated by Original Force Studios, and distributed in the west by Disney.
