The titular main character of Fukumoto Nobuyuki's mahjong manga and anime Akagi: Yami ni Oritatta Tensai, although he first appeared as an old man in Ten (manga). A fearless gambler, he enjoys gambling for the sake of it and not for any monetary value. The manga starts with him at 13 years old, then 19 years old during Washizu Mahjong, and finally in his 50s in Ten when he dies by medical suicide rather than suffer his Alzheimer's.
