A soft hat with a long, stiff bill that may either be curved or flat. The back of the cap may have an adjuster.
Traditionally, the bill is worn forward, shielding the eyes from the sun, but it may also be worn backwards or sideways.
Baseball caps are often worn as casual wear, even by people not playing baseball or attending a baseball game.
