bee
A flying insect that pollinates flowers and produces honey and beeswax. They live as colonies and build beehives to store their honey, and possess stingers that inject minuscule amounts of venom in anyone they deem intruders.
The most common type of bee is the European honey bee. Human management of honey bee colonies for honey production is called apiculture or beekeeping.
