Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini (29 July 1883 – 28 April 1945)
Head of the Italian National Fascist Party and dictator of Italy during World War II. Regarded as the world's first fascist leader, Mussolini's ambitions to "restore" the Roman Empire is hindered by his incompetence which leads to his eventual downfall. He was overthrown by his own government when Italy surrendered and joined the Allies in 1943 and were rescued by the Germans to rule the puppet state until 1945, when he was later executed by resistance members.
He was referred in Italy at the time as "Il Duce" (the Leader), similar to how Adolf Hitler was referred to as "Fuehrer".
