An outer garment for women, covering the torso from the neck to the waist.

The word bodice can describe several distinct garments:

• A low-cut, sleeveless outer garment, worn like a vest over a blouse or dress, as a piece of traditional folk European clothes.
• A corset-like garment, often cross-laced, that also covers the breasts.
• The upper part of a dress, excluding the skirt and sleeves.
