A character from the Transformers science fiction franchise.

Devcon is an heroic Autobot, a sentient alien robot bounty hunter that can transform into a blue long-range attack spacecraft.

In Japan his name was changed to Defcon (デフコン Defukon), a reference to the term DEFCON, an acronym related to a state of military alertness in the United States of America. Although unconfirmed, it is thought that, along with the embargo on the word "nuclear", the writers of the Generation 1 cartoon were not allowed to use the actual word in light of heightened Cold War tensions at the time, thus requiring a made-up soundalike word in the original American dub of the series.

Motto: "I cannot allow any Decepticons to escape, they must be stopped at all costs...!!!".
