The Azur Lane Commander depicted as a child's drawing of a man with a literal smiley face wearing a peaked cap. First seen in Akashi's letter to the player for returning to the game after an extended absence, it became a more common depiction of the Commander in fan works following its appearance as the player's 3D avatar in the new 3D Island Planner game mode.
Despite the similarities to Blue Archive's Doodle Sensei, Doodle Commander actually predates Blue Archive's release by at least 3 years. As with Doodle Sensei, Doodle Commander often appears as a living doodle or a person with a paper depicting the doodle stuck on their head.
