Originally posted as a standalone piece by ironicnotsavage with the caption "Every Miku is canon." It was then expanded on by l33oh, who posted a fanart for the original piece with a different hairstyle and then quote tweeted it with a reference sheet for a slightly modified version of the design with a different outfit. The reference sheet coined the name Freeform Miku, which has since become the main hashtag used to post fanart based on both artists' works.
