gn drive

Fictional semi-perpetual power plant from Mobile Suit Gundam 00 originally used by the protagonist faction Celestial Being to power their Gundams. It has a lower-tech mass-produced equivalent known as the GN Drive Tau, which lacks certain features of true GN drives and emits red/orange/gold GN particles instead of the green ones produced from true GN drives. The earlier GN Tau drives also produce GN particles that are toxic to humans, in a manner similar to normal nuclear radiation.

All versions of the GN drive can have a special feature known as Trans-Am, which temporarily triples the performance of the mobile suit, but has a limited duration and greatly decreases the performance of the unit (for true GN drive equipped units) or causes drive destruction (for GN Drive Tau equipped units).
